Our Solar Optix division, and our team at Neu-Lite Electric had the incredible opportunity of working on the first ever solar powered school here in the city of Lethbridge, AB!
Work began in 2019 to complete the electrical throughout the entire elementary school, as well as installing the solar panels covering the roof, exterior lighting, and interior locations such as the gymnasium.
The elementary school is located in the newly established part of town, in the neighbourhood of Southbrook. This is the first school to be built on the south side of the city in over 50 years!
The school, now known as Dr. Robert Plaxton Elementary, has an expected opening date for the fall of 2020.
The name honours the public school division’s longest-serving superintendent. Plaxton having served in his position for 18 years between 1973 and 1991.
This was a wonderful privilege to work alongside our electrical team on such an important and impactful project here in our community!
